When you think of Seychelles private islands naturally come to mind. After all there are 155 islands in the Seychelles and, of course, a fair number are private islands. Want to rent or buy?

• Private islands for Rent in Seychelles - Which of the islands depends on your budget and number of persons in your group.

  For a group of 4 couples, the smaller Seychelles private islands like Cousine Island and Round Island (near Praslin) are ideal. A note here: Cousine Island is slightly bigger (65 acres) and better suited for nature lovers.

  Medium sized private islands like Bird Island and Denis Island can each accommodate 25 couples. And Alphonse Island Private Resort, which is a fly-fishing paradise, can provide lodgings for 25 couples too. Note: The last three are all sand cays (flat coral islands).

  Silhouette Island, the largest of the private islands in Seychelles, is home to Silhouette Island Resort, Labriz, with 110 villas. And the much smaller St Anne Island Resort has 87 luxury villas on a private island in the middle of a marine park.

   On all these private islands you can rent a single villa or the whole island. However, to secure the whole island, you've got to make arrangements well in advance.
   
   

• To buy a private island in Seychelles all you need do is talk to a good real estate agent there. Let them earn their keep. They know the owners, and the better agents will be on top of the changing market all the time.

  Some Seychelles islands stay on the market for decades. One such is Therese Island. Others change hands very fast - a matter of weeks. An example is Denis Island.

  You could easily be the proud owner of the ultimate piece of real estate in paradise - your own unique Seychelles island.

  Perhaps I should also add: Private islands in Seychelles have always been very good investments and if you like fly-fishing then invest in one of the outer islands like Providence Island, Daros Island, Astove Island or others.
