Desnoeufs is the real deal - the real island of the birds, but Bird Island seems to be catching up fast and may soon live up to its name. Aride Island has another huge colony of over a million seabirds breeding there too.

Both Aride and Bird Islands are much closer to Victoria and fantastic for day trips. Desnoeufs is much further away in the Amirantes group, but definitely worth the trip if you have the time and get a chance to land there. Access to Desnoeufs is only by boat.
