Now for the beaches... Our favourite beaches of Seychelles start with our 10th best and ends with the "number 1" - the very best of Seychelles best beaches.

We had to choose the top 10 beaches from several hundreds - just as hard as to pick the top 10 islands of Seychelles. We had to leave out some amazing beaches but after much consideration, here they are - the best of the best beaches of Seychelles...

# 10 Beau Vallon Beach, on Mahe Island.
This is the most popular beach in the whole of Seychelles with both locals and tourists... Over a mile long with 3 major hotels and some smaller properties, it is in the northwest bay of Mahe - A safe place to swim at most times. When you see it you'll understand the reasons for its popularity...

#9 Honeymoon Beach, on North Island. This is a small beach but very pretty and secluded on a private island. That makes it even more interesting.

Also shown here is Anse Georgette Beach. It is often regarded as the second most beautiful beach on Praslin Island. It is quite small though.

#8 Grand Anse Beach, on Mahe Island. This is a truly magnificent beach - long and straight perhaps as long as Beau Vallon Beach. But please note: swimming is not recommended there. It is on the central west coast of Mahe Island.

Grand Anse Beach is known to be somewhat treacherous with strong undertow at certain times of the year. But I must admit. The beach is gorgeous and the sea is inviting. So, please think twice...

But with the right safety precautions in place it may be a great place for surfing. I've walked and snoozed on that beach many times. But before you consider swimming, do you know who was Sir John Thorp? Read about the dangers off Grand Anse Mahe Beach.

Incidentally the government of Seychelles (2009) just turned down plans to build an exclusive resort there. Perhaps for the wrong reasons, but you should make this beach a top priority beach to visit on Mahe Island.

 

#7 Anse Coraille Bazarka Beach, on Mahe Island.
Still on the west coast almost at the southern most tip of Mahe. It is 600 metres of fine white sands - magnificent. It is a little out of the way, so few people venture there - a great place for just lying on the beach and soaking up the sun, and just enjoying the ambience.

Get mesmerized by the surf. The breakers can get really big here. Again exercise caution if you decide to go for a dip. Some of my best days at the beach have been at this beach.

The last 3 miles of road, to get there, is not very good but it has improved lately, and it is certainly worth your while. On our first visit it was just a dirt road. Get ready as we get closer to the best of Seychelles best beaches...

#6 Victorin Beach, Fregate Island:
Beautiful beach with huge rocks behind it - on another private island. Many have voted it as the best beach in all Seychelles...
