Is luxury absolutely important to you for a holiday in Seychelles? If so - in other words you cannot imagine being without luxury, even for a few days - then you'll find listed below some 5-star hotels and resorts, just for you. :).

But I cannot stress this enough...

You may be missing much by going the luxury-hotel route in Seychelles. What you should know is that... Most luxury hotels in Seychelles are not on the better beaches! You see, the cheaper hotels were built first - decades before - and so they took up the best locations on the best beaches, which are relatively few... "Aha!" you say.

When the luxury hotels came along they had to make do with what was left - second rate locations mostly. But maybe beaches are not very important to you. So I ask, if beaches are not so important for your holiday, then, why would you come to Seychelles anyway? Why not another cheaper destination?

But there are some notable exceptions as far as Seychelles luxury hotels go. They are the Fisherman's Cove Hotel at Beau Vallon and the Banyan Tree Villas Resort at Intendance Bay. Both are on Mahe Island. And also among the Praslin-island hotels here is the absolute best for beach and luxury - the Lemuria Resort.

Otherwise, to enjoy the best beaches on your doorstep you'll most likely have to forgo some luxury. And it would be worth taking a closer look at these cheaper hotels here, like...

Also note that: In seeking luxury Seychelles accommodation, you may have to miss out on our absolute favourite island, Bird Island. By the way, there are no 5-star luxury hotels on La Digue Island, either. And that's where you'll find the best beaches of Seychelles.

But not to worry, if money is no object... You could still enjoy a day trip to those two amazing islands. All you'll have to do is charter a helicopter, which can pick you up from your luxury Seychelles hotel accommodation.

Then you can enjoy the best luxury hotels on Mahe, Praslin or other smaller islands and still get to experience the best islands of the Seychelles. You'll get the best of all worlds. So there is no need for any compromise.

One other interesting thing, no doubt, is the fact that you could enjoy the highest level of luxury in 3-star accommodation in Seychelles by choosing their "Royal or Presidential Suite". One such example is the Royal Suite of Beau Vallon Bay Hotel. This is a luxury 2-bedroom suite, set within the expansive grounds of a budget hotel.

And why would you want to go this route?

First, because of its amazing location - it's smack in the middle of one of the absolute best beaches of Seychelles, where you'll enjoy the most spectacular sunsets on your balcony. And second, you'll be treated like royalty.

Note: We call them "cheap" because these are the lowest priced hotels / accommodation in Seychelles but you should know that the words cheap and Seychelles just don't go together.

So, even for these above, expect to pay a pretty penny. And anyhow you shouldn't expect heaven to come cheap, would you? So enjoy your "cheap" Seychelles accommodation which in many cases will enable you to have a better holiday in Seychelles than the luxury resorts!

However you go, it's your choice but you now have the info to make a wise decision. As I always say: look for the best beaches - or the beach that matches your requirements - before you choose your accommodation in Seychelles.

And don't overlook your mode of transport too during your holiday. Stay mobile. On Mahe and Praslin it has to be a car - at the very least. A small and cheap car rental will do. On La Digue, rent a bicycle. On the private islands your two legs will serve you just fine although you may have a choice of golf buggies and sometimes bicycles on those smaller islands without roads.

As we talk of Seychelles accommodation my suggestion is always to spread your holiday among at least three islands - ten if you can. Move around and stay some nights on different islands. Don't get caught in the resort trap.

You come to Seychelles to enjoy what these amazing islands have to offer. And there's a lot more outside the resorts. So avoid the one-resort holiday in Seychelles - if you were to take only one single tip from this website, let it be this...

There is more to Seychelles than your resort, no matter how great it may be. Get out and about and discover these islands. Then you'll have a dream holiday. That's the reason you come to Seychelles, no? Treat your resort for what it really is - your accommodation in Seychelles, no more.
