Constance Lemuria Resort Praslin is a 5-star deluxe hotel with 96 suites, 8 pool villas and one grand Presidential Villa. And the latter one is on its own exclusive beach. Lemuria is an extensive resort, the biggest on Praslin Island and among the largest in the Seychelles.

Most of the 105 units of accommodation are set discreetly back along two of the three main beaches which border its vast property of 250 acres...

The third beach of Lemuria is one of the most beautiful you'll ever see anywhere in the world. It is purposely left in its pristine, natural state and Lemuria Resort, as the caretaker, is committed to keeping it undeveloped.

So you can visit and enjoy it in all its wild, pristine, immaculate glory. You get the Robinson Crusoe feeling at the amazing Anse Georgette Beach, which is semi-deserted, and only a 15-minute walk from the main hotel buildings or a short buggy ride away over the golf green.

Yes! The Lemuria Resort Praslin also has an 18-hole golf course - the only championship golf course in Seychelles. And talking of golf, the resort has won the highly coveted travel award, "best golf resort of the Indian Ocean" for 3 years in a row from 2008.

On the subject of awards, it has in 2010 won yet another travel award, "leading Spa resort of the Seychelles." And not the least surprising... Constance Lemuria Resort Praslin is a member of the prestigious club, Relais & Chateaux. And it is a 5-star super luxury beach hotel.

And as can be expected it has all the facilities for such a hotel of this classification. It also has 3 swimming pools, 3 restaurants and 4 bars, an 18-hole championship golf course and it borders on 3 superb beaches each with its own peculiar character.

Lemuria Resort is situated at Anse Kerlan in a rather secluded location at the westernmost tip of Praslin, where the public road ends. But it's only 5 minutes drive from the small airport. It is in a beautiful location by the sea on a huge property with a very long shoreline.

The large size of the property (250 acres) means that you can easily find your own secluded spot to escape away to, whether it's the hills with its panoramic view or you prefer to be beside the sea. And here you can choose between the three white sandy beaches or the rocky shore.

As you consider the Lemuria Resort Praslin you should be aware of its location in relation to the other places on the island. First, the resort is convenient - only 5 minutes from the Praslin airport. And the beautiful prehistoric forest, the Vallee de Mai is only a 15-minute drive away.

And talking of convenience, the hotel also has a helipad for your transfers from Seychelles International airport on Mahe and for visits to other nearby islands.

But on the negative side, consider that it is a 45-minute drive to the absolute best beach on the island, Anse Lazio, and 25 minutes over the hills to the ferry jetty which you'll have to use for excursions by sea to the neighbouring islands, like La Digue.

But, it must be noted here: the Anse Lazio Beach is quite close to the hotel as they are both on the northwest coast of the island. And it's only 10 minutes by boat around the northwest tip and you could reach it following a walking trail from the hotel in less than an hour.

But the drive would take no less than 45 minutes as there is no road around Praslin's northwest. The public road starts at the Lemuria hotel, goes south, round the island and ends at Anse Lazio. They are both in the northwest, only two miles apart but on opposite coasts.

Although the Lemuria Resort Praslin is quite large, it's a very quiet hotel. It appears even bigger because it covers a wide area with the lodges well spaced out along two of the beaches.

And golf carts are used for transfers from the farthest accommodation units to the main buildings. So, not to worry if you choose one of the farther units... It's even quieter. In fact the exclusive villas are the furthest away.

The entry level at the Lemuria Resort Praslin is the junior suites which are in blocks of 4 in double-storey beachside lodges - two suites on each floor. They are very spacious and luxuriously appointed with a nice terrace or balcony overlooking the ocean.

The Lemuria hotel rooms are of the highest standard with large en-suite bathroom that has a bathtub and shower. And they come equipped with...

With this in mind, the lodging units of Lemuria Resort Praslin are positioned well back from the beach itself. And the resort has kept as much as possible of the oceanfront trees and bushes so maintaining a natural harmony.

And at the same time these provide a pleasant natural garden around the lodges. The end result is a wonderful place to stay in Seychelles.

Natural materials are used in the hotel's construction, so they blend in well with their surroundings. The lodges and all hotel buildings use wood and natural stones in their construction and the roofs are thatched with palm leaves which complement this wonderful beachside setting...

 

Do you have need for extra space? Not to worry... The Lemuria hotel is supplemented by some amazingly large and luxurious senior suites and pool villas. And their grand presidential villa is like another hotel within the Lemuria resort with its own private grounds, a private butler at your beck and call, service staff and security personnel.

The senior suites have a bedroom and a separate living room and they are double the size of the junior suites.

Each senior, which is either on the ground floor or the upper floor of a double-storey lodge, occupies the whole floor.

It has a double size terrace or balcony overlooking the ocean and ensuite bathroom with a whirlpool bath.

The villas have a lounge, two separate ensuite bedrooms, a romantic outdoor dining area, a relaxation pavilion, and private swimming pool covering an area of 725 m2. And each villa comes with a private butler. This may be good for some, but has some disadvantages for others.

The pool villas are set towards the end of the main beach - the Grand Anse Kerlan Beach - and furthest away from the busy main hotel buildings. When you need to transfer to the central area, just ring up and a golf buggy arrives in no time at all.

And the grand Presidential Villa is even more secluded. It is the ultimate in luxury living in Seychelles with three bedrooms covering a huge area of 1250 m2 and located on its own, albeit small, exclusive beach. In this villa the master suite has its own terrace bathroom with whirlpool bath and sauna.

The presidential villa is huge with 3 suites, private swimming pools at three different levels around the buildings and it has a fully equipped office in addition to many other unique features.

It is the furthest away from the main hotel buildings set in the rocks at the end of the main beach. It is the most exclusive and the most expensive accommodation you'll find anywhere in the Seychelles.
