Come fishing in Seychelles for an unforgettable experience. Can you imagine landing 41 different species of fish in six days? Yes - It has been done in this salt-water fly-fishing heaven. One thing you can be sure of: you won't get bored fly-fishing in Seychelles.
If you are considering a fishing holiday, Seychelles should be at the top of your list. That's where you get the best flats fly-fishing.
Many come to the Seychelles; they fish the Inner Islands and they make some prize catches, take a few photos and even rave about their fishing there. And they even come back year after year but they don't seem to know what they're missing or don't care. That's good enough for them.
But for the greatest fishing holiday of your life forget the inner islands of Seychelles, near Mahe. That's for those who don't know. Go where the "bones" and the "GTs" are plentiful.
You'll be literally plucking them out of the sea around the Outer Islands. Those are remote and hundreds of sea miles away from Victoria. You'll need a local guide of course...
The islands to consider are Cosmoledo atoll, Astove Island and Assumption Island, Farquhar and Providence Islands, Desroches and St Joseph atoll. Alphonse and St Francois Islands, but take it one at a time in this saltwater fly-fishing heaven.
The best fishing in Seychelles is around these remote islands. Whether it's for Bonefish and GT on the inshore flats or blue-water fishing for Marlins and Sailfish you'll never have it so good...

Can you picture yourself facing a shoal of bonefish a thousand strong? This scenario is a definite possibility fly fishing in Seychelles off the atoll of Cosmoledo and Providence Island. You can't believe it until you witness it.
You'll be amazed on your fishing holiday in Seychelles. Can you imagine landing: say 30 to 50 bonefish a day? You see, an experienced angler can do that quite easily on the flats of these remote islands. And your catch will average 3 to 6 pounds but expect several 10-pounders.
With so many, you might want a break from bone fishing. In Seychelles there are 100s of other varieties of fish that you can target. It's possible to land 30 to 40 different species on fly in a week! For Trevally alone, there are 8 species waiting including the incredible GTs - Yes the legendary Giants.
You better bring some heavy tackle. You'll be hooking 25-pounders by the boatload. Have you ever felt the pull of a 70-pound Giant Trevally? You'll be telling the story for years after your Seychelles fly-fishing holiday.
Here are some of the fish you can expect to hook on your fishing holiday, depending on whether you're wading the flats fly fishing or big game fishing Seychelles blue waters...

And there's so much more. It's no wonder that in Seychelles fishing is the national sport and the reason that fish is eaten 12 times a week on average.
Many avid sports fishermen travel half way around the world not for the unbelievable bonefish fly-fishing in Seychelles but for the Giant Trevally. One MD from California says, "I've been fishing for years but I've never seen anything like this..."
Another angler calls Cosmoledo atoll in the Seychelles, "GT heaven." Yes this is fly-fishing heaven or as close as it gets. You can experience the best fly-fishing in Seychelles in the outer islands, paddle walking the inshore flats around the atolls.
Of course if you prefer the record-breaking blue-water fishing Seychelles has to offer, if you're after big game fishing, Seychelles won't disappoint you either, but you'll need guides to take you to the fish.
Remember in Seychelles, fishing can be done in a sea area covering 1.3 million sq kilometres. That is huge but you won't need to get out of sight of land to catch a record breaker.
And the offshore fishing is only a few hundred metres out at those pristine coral islands. In fact you'll be landing the big ones just beyond the reefs there. For your fishing holiday, Seychelles will not let you down. This I promise you.
My father and my grandfather before him fished those outer islands with no fanfare, and I've heard their countless tales. The fishing now is as good as it's ever been. Why? It's because these islands are mostly uninhabited and hundreds of miles of ocean separates them from Victoria, Mahe.
I know once you fish around the outer islands you'll think Seychelles is fly-fishing heaven too. That's what so many have been saying for decades. But recently sports fishermen have discovered fishing in Seychelles in a big way.
These islands are definitely on the world fly-fishing map for the record breakers, but it's nothing new. Where Bone fishing in Seychelles is concerned record-breaking catches are being made almost every day but it's no big deal among the locals.
And some anglers say Seychelles is the "GT capital of the world". I believe it. You will too after you hook a 70-pound Giant Trevally! You better come prepared. So pack some heavy tackle for some real bruisers when you come fly-fishing Seychelles waters...
"What's the best time?" You ask. The Seychelles fishing season runs from October to May. Now plan and go enjoy your fishing in Seychelles...
Please bookmark this site and after you've fished these islands especially Providence, Cosmoledo and St Joseph atolls, come back and share your story of your bonefish fly-fishing in Seychelles. We'd also love to hear your tale of big game fishing. :). You can tell about that there. You can share the pictures too right here.
A final word of warning: In Seychelles fishing with spear guns is illegal. So bring your fishing tackle but no spear guns for the best fishing holiday Seychelles can offer.
