The two words: "cities Seychelles" just don't fit together. I get asked often: "What are the cities of Seychelles?" and my answer is: "Seychelles cities?" Well...
...You see, there are no cities - Seychelles is too small for that - at least not in the classic sense of a city. Cities are very big towns, right? So there are no cities in Seychelles, not even large towns. Let me explain.
Seychelles consists of 155 islands only 3 of which have any "sizeable" population. They are Mahe, Praslin and La Digue islands. The population centres in Seychelles are really villages of 1000 people or much less.
You know what the problem is? When people think of airports, they think of the destinations as cities. Quite right for most countries. You probably come from a big country with many big cities. But this does not apply to Seychelles.

Most likely in your own country there is no such thing as an airport with a 3000-metre runway that serves a small town or some population centre of 24,000 but Seychelles is small and different. So...
There is one airport, Seychelles International Airport that serves as the gateway to the tiny country - Yes the whole country, Seychelles. There are no cities Seychelles is not a city-state; it's an island country with a tiny population scattered over more than 100 islands. And the airport is what drives the Seychelles economy even with no city.
The airport serves the whole country, and the country is made up of one small town, Victoria, the capital, with 6000 people and many villages adding up to a total population of 85,000 (2009) scattered around on several islands.

Cities of Seychelles are non-existent. A figment of the imagination, perhaps created by computer programs to airport and hotel queries.
Some may still say the small town of Victoria, the capital of Seychelles, qualifies in the class "cities of Seychelles." Well...
Victoria has 5 banks, a post office, is the seat of government and has 2 cathedrals! Yes 2 cathedrals, and they are only 200 metres apart. Does that make it a city?
Greater Victoria has a population of about 24,000 (2009). For Victoria town and port, and that's what is called Victoria here, the figure is a mere 6000. It only has a dozen short narrow streets
Now, a question to you: With those facts, "Does Victoria, Seychelles qualify as one of the smallest cities in the world?" And to show you that there are no cities in Seychelles here is a large street map of Victoria town, capital of Seychelles.

For me, Victoria is just a small town - a quaint little town. There are no cities in Seychelles. And that is what makes it so unusual and so nice...
Victoria is also the only seaport of the Seychelles with facilities to handle, load and offload ocean-going vessels.
Victoria has a Container port, a fishing port, and an Inter-island quay, where you take the fast ferry to Praslin Island.
It also has several marinas, two of which are Eden Island and the Wharf Hotel and Marina, a convenient place to stay if you're in transit in Seychelles.
If you're arriving or departing Seychelles by cruise ship you'll of course be using Port Victoria. Again it is small, but the harbour is deep and it gets the job done safely and efficiently.
So, where are the cities of Seychelles? ...And that's what makes it so unusual. There are no cities - Seychelles is unique.
