At Beau Vallon, check out the Pizzeria right on the beach towards the northern end, or cross the road to sample what the locals eat at the Boat House . Their nightly barbecued fish buffet dinner is excellent value, but you must go early.

Enjoying your cheap vacation in Seychelles? For transport use the public bus whenever possible but avoid the rush hour 7:00am to 9:00am, and 3:00pm to 5:30pm (Monday to Friday), and all morning Saturdays.

Taxis are relatively expensive but you'll need to use them at least two times during your stay - the day you arrive in Seychelles and the day of your departure. Why? Because you won't be allowed on public buses with 20 Kg of luggage. It is just not done in Seychelles.

 

Understand that because of the narrow winding roads, and the buses being small, it is only meant for safe transportation of passengers and not for cargo, heavy luggage or pets...

When travelling to Praslin use the ferry from Victoria. It's more convenient especially if you want to stay in the east or on the northern coast and you also plan to visit La Digue, which is only a short ferry trip from Praslin. La Digue is one place you must absolutely see on your cheap holiday in Seychelles. Don't skip this for any reason.

But don't forget to pack your travel tablets and take it before your trip, and stay on deck. You do not want to get seasick, do you? You'll thank me for that tip later. From May to September the ferry crossing is in heavy seas, with more pitching and rolling, which slows it down and also increases the likelihood of getting seasick. But you'll survive :).
