Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Beach Resort, AKA Beau Vallon Bay Hotel, has recently been refurbished and upgraded in 2011 to a 4-star hotel. It sits on one of the best beaches of Seychelles half way between Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove, which is a 5-star hotel, and Coral Strand Hotel, a 3-star budget hotel.

There are some 155 standard rooms housed in the main, two-floor building, which form the original core of the hotel. This stretches out in the garden in a Y-shape plan. In addition 2-dozen superior rooms and 4-dozen deluxe rooms and garden suites plus one luxury royal suite complement the hotel.

At least half of these have been added in more recent years and are separate from the main building. There are 6 different categories of rooms and prices at Beau Vallon Bay Hotel. This is one of the big, old hotels of Seychelles totalling 232 rooms.

There is not much to say about the standard rooms except they're all a fair size, comfortable, air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms. As one guest put it best, "remember it is a 3-star hotel built in the 1970s." Absolutely! This is not a luxury hotel but it has been refurbished recently. One thing I do not personally like about Bay Hotel is that long, dimly lit corridor that leads to the standard rooms...

But the suites are in a class of their own and large and comfy. The royal suite has two large bedrooms with whirlpool bath, a living area, dining area with modern kitchenette and balcony, so these make the most of the hotel's superb setting.

Beau Vallon Bay Hotel's main strength and selling point is its location. Yes here you have a large budget hotel, sometimes rated 3.5-star, in a 5-star location - on a world-class beach. It is large by Seychelles standards. It was designed for those who want to be at the beach all day. What's more important to you the room or the beach? If you're on a budget and you want the best beach then this is the right hotel for you.

In comparison to luxury hotels in Seychelles, Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay surpasses most of them in terms of location without a doubt (Yes I am comparing a budget hotel to the luxury hotels). Absolutely, there are very few beaches like Beau Vallon beach in the Seychelles. And very few hotels can boast of beaches of this calibre.

In my view Beau Vallon Bay offers much to its guests and patrons. The 3 restaurants and bars open onto the most beautiful white sands with incredible views of the shimmering blue sea. One of the best beaches of Seychelles, Beau Vallon Beach, is literally a stone's throw away.

And the pool bar and Pizzeria, which is right on the beach, is the perfect place for a sundowner to end a long day on that beautiful beach as you watch the most glorious sunsets over the sea. This daily event is quite something to behold.

And not to forget that along this beach you'll also find a dozen other eateries to choose from. So just walk down the beach and enjoy a meal at places like Baobab and the Boat House or the pool bar at Coral Strand or the 5-star restaurant of Fisherman's Cove.

Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay has operating on its premises one of the best and biggest water-sports centres in Seychelles where you can go kayaking, windsurfing, sailing and surfing for free. Other sports like jet-skiing, paragliding, water skiing, fly-fishing and more is also available for a fee.

They also have a dive centre based on the premises so you can enjoy snorkelling and offshore scuba diving. And if you fancy a game of chance like roulette, they also have a casino that will keep you busy till the wee hours. It also has some other forms of entertainment most nights.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel you'll have to go elsewhere but if you're looking for a great beach holiday then Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay is a good place to consider and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. I would actually go as far as recommending it if you like the beach, the sea and water sports. Many visitors return to Beau Vallon Bay Hotel again and again - some even 4 to 6 times or more - Some every year. Why? It's certainly not  for the rooms.

 

And don't forget for a little extra you can always upgrade to the superior or deluxe rooms within the same hotel. These are bigger, better situated and with more comfort.
