A Seychelles Holiday and Getting Married

Is it possible to arrange a very small wedding in Seychelles?Hi Irene & Louis!
My girlfriend and I are planning to visit your heavenly Seychelles islands and I have just found your website. This is going to be our first holiday overseas, if everything goes well. :)
We are planning to stay on Mahe Island, and I saw your info about "comfortable villas in Seychelles for 120 Euros a night for 2 persons". We prefer bungalows instead of hotels. If you could send us a few links (around this price), where to find these, I would really appreciate it.
I will try to arrange the whole holiday by myself, so every help comes really handy.
And one more question: Is it possible to arrange a very small wedding while we are there? :) No big thing, only us, two best men (local) and the registrar.
Thanks for listening and especially if you can help in any of these.
Best wishes,
Eniko and Peter (from Hungary, Europe)
Louis' reply:Hey Peter
Prices are starting to go up again in 2010. Check out these pages for
guesthouses,
hotels and
vacation rentals in Seychelles.
And yes it is possible to get married in Seychelles. And it's very straightforward. But perhaps it's best to arrange all that early, in fact well before you arrive. See this page,
weddings in Seychelles.
And also read our
FAQ and see what is the best time in your own unique situation to visit Seychelles. There are 100+ web pages on this site, so read and research. This will definitely be your most expensive holiday ever. So if you are going to get married in Seychelles budget more - much more - than you think you'll need. Then your bride will radiate and you'll be telling your children and grand children as you reminisce about Seychelles years from now.
You do mention that you will be staying on Mahe. For your information this is like scratching the tip of the proverbial iceberg. The main island is quite different from the rest of Seychelles. If you really want to be amazed then you owe it to yourself and your intended bride to explore further.
I would go so far as saying: You cannot justly say you know Seychelles if you haven't been to Praslin, La Digue and at least one sand cay like Bird, Denis, Alphonse or Desroches islands. Day trips to Bird and
La Digue islands would be good enough but you certainly need at least two days on
Praslin. On the latter you must visit
May Valley. For some this is the highlight of a holiday in Seychelles
You can still find deserted beaches in Seychelles in 2010. Is that worth anything to you? This is what makes Seychelles different and why it will cost you more too. A deserted stretch of amazing white sands means a lot to me personally and this is the reason I like Seychelles so much. And by legislation,
Seychelles beaches are all public! So enjoy them with the compliments of the people of Seychelles.
One last piece of advice: If your budget is a little low and you have a choice of destinations abroad, take the alternative. Seychelles can wait until you are really ready. The beaches will still be here in 20 years. You can always come here to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
